This chapter is the culmination of AZFinText research and explores areas of what article terms are most effective, which industry sectors are easiest to predict and how to couple a textual financial news system with existing quantitative stock selection strategies. |

In the Fall of 2010, Dr. Schumaker's Sports Data Mining book was published. This book provides an overview of current state-of-the-art practices in data acquisition, mining, knowledge extraction and visualization techniques that are being implemented by sports enthusiasts and professional sports organizations alike. Aside from the book, interest in Dr. Schumaker's Sports Data Mining research culminated in several interviews, highlights of which are listed below. |
